Mark Maske: It should be pretty darn good. The Giants are only going to get better as Eli Manning gets better. Don’t be fooled by how their season ended. Winning the division in Manning’s first full season as the starter is meaningful.

The Eagles won’t be what they were two years ago, but they should be a lot better than they were this season. Their window of opportunity is closing, but it isn’t closed. The Cowboys get to take one more shot with Bledsoe, you would think, and if the Redskins can get a little bit better on offense, they become a legitimate Super Bowl contender.

Silver Spring, Md.: Do you have a Professional Football Hall of Fame vote? Even if you don’t can you please explain the voting process and why Art Monk is not a member.

Thank you.

Mark Maske: I don’t have a vote, no, but two people on our staff, Michael Wilbon and Len Shapiro, are voters. The voters meet the day before the Super Bowl with 15 finalists in front of them, and have to pick three to six people to go in. The argument against Art Monk has been that he was a consistent player who was very good but fell a little short of greatness, that those Redskins teams had other players making the biggest plays and his career lacked signature moments in the biggest games. This actually could be a very good opportunity for Monk this year, given the off-the-field problems that Michael Irvin has had lately that could be brought up during the debate about him. There’s nothing saying both of them couldn’t go in but the committee tends to pit one wide receiver against another, and Irvin’s problems could work in favor of Monk.
